The Conversation- A Poem

If Africa could speak to the diaspora, what would she say? That was the question Emmanuel Kabeya and I set out to explore as we penned this poem for the 2017 installment of TEDxALC. We also asked ourselves, what is said about Africa? Are we quick to dismiss her in search of better or do we still think her precious?

Kabeya was one of the best performance partners I could have asked for because of his confidence and way with words. He is also a poet and rapper from Zambia who is not new to the TEDxALC stage. He performed in the 2016 installment alongside other artists.
